Standing in a breeze Bracing and cold I look at the land Spreading beyond.
Ahead are dark trees A sheltered walk Perhaps there is peace For weary feet.
But further are hills A rising rock-face A hard path For me to tread.
From where I now stand I see beyond the hills Far mountains rise Dim to my eyes.
But on them is light Sun through clouds It must be warmer In the valley below them.
But it will be long Ere I reach the sunlight A long climb A lonely road.
And when I reach the valley How long may I linger? How can I climb the mountains And what lies beyond them?
Lord and Way-finder Take care for my walk Do not let me stray Let me find what is after the end.

I love this one Andrew! It is very simple and contemplative. It is deviant from your normal epic style, and I rather enjoyed it. The scenery described is beautiful, and the theme rings true for all, how we are all unsure of our fate. I love how in the end you give up the feeling to God, asking Him to take care of you. It's a simple act of faith all man must do. Excellent work written in a few words. God bless!

Some poets write from the heart, some from the mind and some from the soul... you write from the spirit of everything that is good in this world. You give me a huge yearning for nature. If I werent at work, I'd go run in circles outside like a little girl. :) Thank you

I hope you find what you are searching for on your journey. Maybe you have it already and do not know it? |

My, this is beautiful! Reminds me of the hikes I used to take around the hills and mountains here, until things got so busy. Lovely work, Andrew. Congrats! J. |
