Beyond Destiny
He walked the deck of the Prentiss Royal Tossed about by stormy sea Thinking of his love back home Now beyond his destiny
As waves billowed overhead The ship pitching to and fro He knew with certain clarity Her touch he'd never know
Yet he could imagine her now Sun shining golden in her hair Cheeks bright and rosy Scent lightly in the air
Further and further the schooner plunged Deeper into the towering waves As men cried out quite desperately Unto the God that saves
He felt no need to cry No need to beg and plead For long ago as a lad His savior addressed that need
And as the ship descended Unto it's eternal place His thoughts returned to his love With a smile upon his face
Russ

Very well written. It is amazing how one can remember the good things, even upon death.

Hey Russ....even without the graphics it's absolutely beautiful. *smile*
Seriously, I loved the imagery I got from this.. This poem kinda reminded me of my own thoughts two years ago when I was involved in an accident.

This is an amazingly beautiful description of true love and faith. Death does not mean the end of love. Memories can truly sustain love forever.
