Give a hug

Contributed by eugene on Monday, 8th March 2004 @ 01:08:42 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

please give me a hug
I hear this voice whisper out

That must be whispers from a dying child
Begging mankind to turn her deathly plight
Begging you to lend your crumb of mercy
So her dying world may be turned around.

please give a hug
The pleas keep coming

Who is this crying child?
Could it be the abandoned love
From mans endless wars
Or
The dark clouds swirling
Over the crude hearts of men;
Or
Could it be the baby
Abandoned to rot away
Under the tree of negligence
Planted at the lawns of fate.

please I need your hug
I hear this voice
Across the citys subway
I hear it like a subtle anger
A whisper roaring in my mind
Do you also hear this whisper?

Good write... powerful write... it makes one think about how to help those crying out... how to lend a hand... to change it... it must start with the man in the mirror... within yourself!
