Last Goodbye

As I walk down the aisle
To pay my last respects
Tears roll down my cheeks
Oh, how I hate the silence.
It's not fair,
God, why did you take her away?
It was too early for her to go.
And now I cry
Oh, you know I miss her so much.
I see her lying there
All dressed in white.
Her sleep is so peaceful
Finally she is at rest
But I wish she was here..
And as I place my hand on her
I feel my heart dying.
Bending down I kiss her
And whisper in her ear
Words only she would understand.
I just stand here
For I cannot turn away.
The tears are falling harder now
Blurring my vision..
I can't hold them back
I don't know how I'll live,
For she gave me life.
Her voice I still remember,
And with pain I whisper,
My last good-bye.

*Wipes her tears* This is such a heartfelt poem....and especially meaningful to me today...as it's my Mom's birthday..and she's been gone 23 yrs now...I still miss her lots..and will always remember my walk... God's Blessings...
