Irish Heart's

Contributed by sam-dot on Thursday, 11th March 2004 @ 10:26:19 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Nothing speaks louder than an irishman's heart,
For in it is glory, pride, honor and chivalry,
It laughs and sings and dances ne'er apart,
Leaving nothing to be desired for an irishman is he,

Iniside his heart is a boiler four foot thick,
Pouring hot words through small channels,
Keeping the veins afire as if they were a wick,
Giving out great warmth like a new pair of long john flannels,

Once it is awoken from it's youthful dreaming,
There is no hope for anyone else,
For no male heart can match the power and gleaming,
Of the irishman's heart with the allure of freshly baked smells

Yeats is wonderful, isn't he? His poetry is about the most beautiful I've encountered. So haunting and Celtic. Excellent tribute here! I love everything Irish.
Keep writing!
Slàn!
