she came running through the field and had started real strong but she had been running for miles so hard and so long
the point she had started 100 miles away and she had covered the distance In just one day
she went from a gallop to a trot to a stride when she finnally stoped I heard her heart pound Inside
she stoped at the lakeside to get her a drink as she dropped to her knees I saw hooves raw and pink
and as she panted and whinnied the look on her face I knew without thinking,she had run her last race
now In the pasture,a mound with a cross the epitath reads, my best friend hoss
