Just A Girl

Contributed by Wiccan on Sunday, 14th July 2002 @ 12:25:03 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

If you'd listen then you'd hear
Nothing is expected of me
Because I'm just a girl
And I have no place in this world
So why don't you just let me be
I'm sick of people thinking
That we're all stupid morons
But if they'd pay attention then they'd see
That it is me
The one others fallow
The one that doesn't fear
The one who will break the rules
When everyone is near
And I'm just a girl
Who does things for herself
With friends who act like themselves
And no body else
I can make a difference
In what people do think
Because my friends have my back
But I might not be able to
Change how people act
Because I'm just a girl
But take a look and see
That there are millions of others
Who are just like me

Hi Wiccan,

What a shame that you ever felt the need to write this poem. I often think what a different world this would be if more leaders were female.
Many of my fellow males still see females as property. In the western world you have more options but old attitudes still die hard. Things are changing, slowly but surely. Good work Wiccan.

Your poem was very good. I really goes to say what woman go through. Cause men still think that women should be seen and not heard. But your poem says were goin be heard whether they like it or not. We women got to stick together we can make a difference and we already have.Very good message by the way.
