The picture I paint of myself is of a work
That will forever be in progress
Always slightly damaged
And perhaps,
But resilient and hopeful
If it should be unnecessary
Then I am unwilling to surrender myself
To embrace warmth or love
A glass of water may well be a glass of my
Worst enemies blood
I will drink it-my thirst is strong as
Life wears me out
My thirst is wrong but life ***** me about
The picture I paint of myself
Will display pain
Eyes that seem fragile as glass lost in love denied
A vibe vulnerable and skin sore and life-bruised
The picture I paint of myself will display
Someone who is struggling to keep her equilibrium
To hold her emotions tight in both hands,
Which threatens to seep out at any moment like sand
Through a childs fingers
The picture I paint of myself is of a work
That I will never finish
But it will capture my tortured soul
And forever, for me show a heros journey
The picture I paint of myself is of a work
That will forever be in progress
Always slightly damaged
And perhaps,
But resilient and hopeful
