it is so hard to write things of happiness
when your dealing with alzheimers you cry
most things are just not very happy at all
why must we always be so gloomy
we are gloomy because we live with death constantly
it is only a matter of when and for some how
we wish we could be happy we have almost forgotten
this illness consumes our loved ones also consumes us
why must we always be so gloomy
we come close at times of having humor in our lives again
but alzheimers always nips that in the bud and we cry
we sometimes find humor in the least expected places
we now take humor any time or place it pops up
why must we always be so gloomy
you take humor in any form to ease the pressures
some think of it as dark humor it is far from it
humor comes in many forms and many different shapes
they are needed to be embraced by us to survive
why must we always be so gloomy

| Alzheimers is a very sad illness that just wont get better. It is also difficult to write about it.I have two friends that are suffering and it breaks one's heart when visiting them. Try to keep smiling from bernard. |
