A writers greatest challenge
lies right before their eyes.
A writers greatest challenge
is what all of us despise.
An empty page
an empty mind
A blank picture
We all despise.
That nothingness
standing there
raising it's challenge
as we sit and stare.
But before we know it
the challenge has dissappeared
the page is filled
no more nothing to be feared.
Now as I sit,
looking at this page,
I realize I defeated it
in my sleepy daze.

You know, I like this poem, but I'd also like to offer another viewpoint. In short: Couldn't an empty page be viewed as yet another challenge that we have to face, or even a rather pleasant form of relief... like... you have an emotional roller-coaster of a day and then you find an empty page
Way to put it out there though. I know exactly what you mean, but I'm an optimist, so I had to put that ^^ in there.
Keep it up.
