Broken promises lay in my heart
Shattered dreams, tear me apart
A love we shared now gone away
My life feels empty, I wish you'd stay
Why can't we make it work
Ten years gone by, still the same hurt
I look in your eyes, I see the love
Sometimes I swear you were sent from above
But then I awake and see the real you
The one who hurts me and leaves me blue
You fill my head with lies each day
Maybe it is better, you go your own way
I will never forget you, or what we shared
You were my best friend, it isn't fair
That I have to let you go forever
But if I don't I'll never love another
