When I saw you for the first time
I saw this shy little girl standing before me
Who wouldn't even look at me
Or even look me in the eye
And didn't say much of anything
But when I spoke to you... you just stared at your shoes
It seemed as though you were afraid
You might have to give a tiny piece of yourself away
Well... my friend... you did
It was the first time...
When you spoke to me with those beautiful eyes
That's when I realized... just how special you are
'Cause I found a path that leads straight to your heart's door
I find it each and everytime...
You speak to me with those beautiful eyes
Because your eyes are the windows to your soul
What they're telling me isn't secrets or lies or even unknown
They speak the truth... that describes what you try and hide
Because when you're reaching out for someone to hold you close
You feel so afraid... so alone
You so often find yourself in the world of the lost, lonely and hurting sometimes
I can tell when you're happy or sad
Or when you're hurting from the pain inside
I can see the beauty of your soul
'Cause I've journeyed there many a time
When you speak to me with those beautiful eyes
And when you do...
I find myself intently listening
Straining to heard that tiny voice
Echoing from somewhere deep within
Screaming, "Here I am alone again!"
Well... my friend...
You're never alone
You're a part of me... you'll always be
You've touched my life and my soul
I'll carry you within my heart... wherever I go
'Cause you're so special
You're an inspiration...
Especially... when...
You speak to me... with those beautiful eyes
