The Sands of Time
The sands of time have a fine line
The stepping stones of life are stepped upon
(Destinations reached from)
The footprints left are just vague memories
Yet aren't forgotten instantly
The sands of time erase everything
The stepping stones corrode
(You can't go back anymore)
The footprints are covered and forgotten
It's meant to be never again
(Memories forgotten are times erased)
More unseen than upon the surface
The key to success is to forget your fears
(Like the best)
Lives are like books incomplete
The blank pages yet to be filled will be torn away still
Death takes what life gives
Every day someone is taken away
Their footprints are erased as is everything
The next day isn't a certainty
Everyone's lives are on the line
The open doors are slowly closing
Opportunities are shortcutted
You seek within yourself for the answers
Yet the silence is unable to tell you
The climax of the book is yet to be lived through
*Chorous*
Any day is able to be taken
Any day is able to be wasted
Any day is just another day
The last day is any day away
In the future you are yet to be forgotten
But the future holds untrue
With every step that you take
(Another footprint erases)
Take this day and not waste it
Tomorrow is another day
That day is not certain to stay
