Lady of the Mountain continued.. * * * Part.2
When Sati entered the sacrificial hall It was crowded with gods and angels And the sages divine chanting hymns Were pouring out libations into flames As the patriarch was watching them all. Vessels of gold and jewels shining like Moons and stars were there on one side She saw her sisters and brothers-in-laws In golden silks, nudging each other after Looking at her, also heard their snigger She ran to the place where her parents Sat and prostrated her self at their feet Daksha turned, opened his eyes wide And hissed, You shame-less girl who Invited you here. As his thought went Out to Siva, his face grew red with anger Volleys of abuses he poured out from The depths of hatred within him. He did Continue to rail absent Siva, spitting out Insult after insult. Sati could not bear to Hear abuses, closed her ears, exclaimed Siva, Siva and then she decided to end Her body as Dakshas daughter, sat down In yoga, controlled her breath invoked fire And immolated her self in flames of yoga As Daksha stood horrified to see the flames Engulf her body while her mother screamed And began to sob wildly, the sages trembled People stood dazed, and the ceremony ceased. Cosmic bull Nandi rushed towards the corpse Shaking his horns, called the earth and heaven To bear witness, he cursed, Inhuman Daksha Thy sin shall not go unpunished. For a minute He stood near the corpse with silent tears and Rushed to Kailas to report the ghastly incident, As Satis maids followed him. Seeing the Lord In meditation, Nandi in a mournful voice cried Oh Lord, Sati is dead Siva woke up from his Trance of yoga, was shocked to learn what was Happened, then struck by grief cried out Lord Oh Sati, dear Sati, gentle Sati, O my beloved What have you done? How could you desert me? Slowly as he paced up and down, suddenly his Sorrow gave room to fiery anger his pale face Became red and his eyes were burning coals Restlessly he jumped hither and thither with Wild strides, dug his hand into matted locks He drew out a single strand of hair and hit it On a rock, by its impact leapt up volcanoes, as Those flames converged there a being took shape Out of burning fury his face red and the fires of Wrath leaped out of every pore of his mighty body He wielded a blazing sword and innumerable weapons In his several arms and then Nandi fell on his knees Recognized the new giant as Bhadra the embodiment Of Sivas anger and there several demons sprang up From those burning fires who resembled Bhadra yet They were smaller to him but their number multiplied Every second. Leading his army Bhadra cried out Vengeance, blood, death, destruction, lets rush With speed of lightening He with his fiery demons Reached the cursed spot, and savagely set to work Wrecking, burning, destroying each thing they saw In that huge sacrificial hall of Daksha, the patriarch! * * * ( please await final part.3) 19-3-2004

I have never quite been able to write such an epic work as you have started here. I guess my mind just doesnt have what it takes but yours certainly does.
