Goodbye small town

today i went strolling down memory lane to cookie cut out house's man they look the same flower beds now in bloom catching walkers eye that big old tree i remember the day i climbed to high
and there is the alley i took my first smoke and the pamagranite tree man that was a joke our little field across the street is now a new garage wow this town has grown it seems just a mirage
yes i recall that store yoused to be my uncles very hardware now is lot #3 the old drive inn movie has since been torn down and a two lane street goes through the center of town
it has no qualities i can recall like orange groves that grew ten feet tall hurry hurry is all i now see im glad i moved out in 1983
