Facing Our Demons

Contributed by faithmairee on Saturday, 20th March 2004 @ 06:21:39 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

why is it we are so discontent
with our humanness
why must we struggle so hard
with who we are
a dog doesn't have to prove anything
he's merely a dog and doesn't
mind that at all

acceptance of our doom will save us
knowing we have failed at loving
will free us once and for all
for we cannot give what we don't have
and innocence once lost
can not be regained

Amen... to that...yes...yes...let us all sink into the pits of our despair only then will we be really content...no more dressing ourselves as dolls that pander to the prostitutions of life's deceitful notions of happiness and joys...nice touching poem.

I have found that you have to first learn to love yourself as you are before anyone else can truly begin to love you. This is a great piece of work with a lot said in a short span, Faith.
