Pretty snowflakes in flight

Ice crystals form
On branches bare
You can feel the chill
In the wintry air
The clouds get lower
Fuller and dark
Ready to offload
And make their mark
Snowflakes start falling
So pretty and light
They drift in the breeze
Makes everything white
As it settles
Much thicker now
Its still coming down
Bigger flakes tumble
All the way to the ground
Where are the pathways
The roads and the steps?
Theyre hidden from sight
In the cold snowy depths
Spiders webs highlighted
As the snow finally stops
Icicles hang from trees and rooftops
Robins fly in
Puff out their redbreasts
Theyre a real treat to see
Our wintry guests
The snows here to stay
For some time I assume
Hope not for too long
I dont want the flu
A beautiful sight
A blanket of white
It fell from a height
Pretty snowflakes in flight
