A Friend's Death

Your strength slowly abandons you As your illness becomes stronger. Your breathing weakens (I can barely hear it now), As you look at me with your once bright eyes And tell me not to worry. There is no other sound in the room Save for my prayers, And my weeping. Your words trail off and your fingers Grow cold in my hand. The rose on your windowpane Bows down to you and sheds its petals It refuses to live without you, To be more beautiful than you. Death crushes my heart As I am left cold, and alone.

This is sad. Sorry for your loss. You've done a wonderful way of conveying your feelings and I'm sure your friend would be proud. |

Thank you. The rose has an extremely important meaning to it. I'll tell you another time.
