Escaping from the way we were,
With only fear in mind,
Like a dagger in my heart,
I feel that I must hide.
The scars along my arms and chest
Are ugly reminders of how
You touched me like a demon would
The darkest day of hell.
I saw there flowing within you
The coldness in your eyes.
I saw that coldness turn to heat,
When you noticed my begging cries.
Then all I knew was darkness.
I was paying no heed to your pain.
Praying for you just to stop,
So in life I could remain.
