Carve Alone

Minds function is a cutting tool But what defines character? If addiction captures the fool Then how would it carve? Another blade to go to waste In the days of ghostly beige And it gradually destroys its base With a want, a need, a cage Has that knife worn so thin? That it's tough to cut What you was about to begin And you say it was a knot How many times have you wounded yourself? The evidence is clearly on your face How is it to indulge what you dealt? When the knife's health is becoming dull A tool that was once a mind Can not finish its last cuts Now that the blade is grime But it was the owner tending to addict The substance to blind their working eyes And it's a curve that they can't carve to hide
