Wasteland, desolate two-lane highway
Traveled night and day
Without seeing anything at all
Roadside diner with neon lights
Buzzing like bees in the window
The squeak of ancient revolving stools
Covered in cheap vinyl
Ice water and bad coffee
Hamburgers and french fries
A fly sitting on the ketchup bottle
Relentless desert sun in my eyes
Country music on the radio
I could be home in bed right now
But this is my dream vacation

I hope this was supposed to be funny..cause for some reason I lmao over it..maybe it's just my mood..lol I saw every detail..even the look on your face as you watched the fly.

| This does not sound like a "dream" vacation but it could be a vacation in your dreams indeed. very quaint..old americana here...the legacy of the interstates....of road racers..and roadside diners....great write! |
