Lifetime Friends
Do you understand what I have done?
Do you see the reasons why?
Its all because of guilt
When you looked him in the eye
Im the reason you know it
The reason you feel so bad
And thats not what love should be
It should be joyous and not sad
You said to me twice
A good person you want to be
And so I thought it right to go
And allow your guilt to flee
Yes I know you love me
Of that Im satisfied
And you know I love you too
For many times Ive testified
And by this you know I love you
For I placed your heart above my own
And return to the life
I have always known
But it pleases me greatly
To know Ive sacrificed for you
And someday you will see
Indeed my love is true
Now go look into his eyes
Not with guilt but loving invitation
Rekindle the love once you shared
With longing and adoration
My love will always be yours
On that you can depend
But in its proper place
The place of a friend
