A Tribute To Celine Dion

Contributed by baronhawk on Monday, 29th March 2004 @ 05:00:35 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Through the distance of spaces
in the voyage of sounds
I hear your sweet sweet voice
bringing to me gentle songs

lilting lyrics that crushes
the sorrows of days to come
sweet melodies that batters
the sadness of nights beyond

in the solitude of my times
in the loneliness of my years
I play your sweet sweet songs
to soothe my mournful tears

the singing of an angel
reminding me that things
are bound to hopes and chances
what better dreams might tomorrow bring

with a piece of my heart
I give thanks to God
whose bounty on earth
has included your sweet sweet songs

Through the distance of spaces
in the voyage of sounds
may I always hear your sweet sweet voice
singing those tender gentle songs.

Do you ever have one of those moments where you get goosebumps all over your skin as soon as you read something? Do guys get those? I dunno. But as soon as I read this title, instantly I got them. For I am listening to---"I hate you, then I love you" by Celine Dion and Luciano Pavarotti which is one of my favorite songs! So from the title on, I was sold. Everything you said in this poem I could relate to and when she hits those high octaves its like feeling your nerve endings awaken. A beautiful tribute, I loved it sooooooooooooooooooooo much.... That's a wonderful tribute to Celine Dion...although I don't really listen to her music, I have to say she has an amazing voice, and the imagery and almost musical tone of this poem matches your appreciation of her music nicely.
