As I leave this place today, 405 South Rush Street, I leave a part of me behind; Ive tried to keep it in my heart.
Anderson must feel cold tonight; Hes got his jacket, but hes still frozen. He must not know what its like, To be forgotten.
Theres got to be more to it; None of this adds up. Youve gone out with the wind, While were still at a stop.
As I look out at these acres, They remind me of what we promised. Youd always be our Superman, Wed always be your Lois Lane.
I know we never told you, But we know you tried your best. Well listen for you. Maybe youll drive back one day.
We waited here for years and years, To finally understand; Superman always needed to fly away; And never come back again.
