in this elegant grotto i sit but, before you judge this, remember appearences aren't always as they seem i've heard many stories about people that the classical moon whispers at night among the briar patch about the blind intentions of love and the dangerous thoughts that often appear poor heart, i've never felt your pain and i don't pretend to and i can't pretend because i don't have any apathy that ridiculous apathy--i'd be false coming from me the moon speaks of drained relationships and broken hearts among the way i wouldn't know all i know is my own crystal clear sorrow my own love would be cold because i have a scalding cold heart let this all unwind, the sweet covering of love and endure the sadness and the grimy aftermath that hangs in the air like a thick smog cloud and leaves a taste in our mouths like wet sand love has a notorious reputation filled with twisted truths and spoiled prides and stands out in my mind with an odd singularity coloured like a blood-stained red carpet-- you know the stains are there but you just can't see them until they're old and almost forgotten it makes me wonder how long these torture games will continue until our crimson end
--end--

In this poem, I can feel the self rejection and
mistrust of love. The author projects her
dislike of herself in the matter of love. I like
this poem. |
