Scalded Moth

Contributed by crimsondream on Monday, 29th March 2004 @ 11:56:13 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

the water is green with envy
and im throwing it all away
therell be nothing to go back to
by the end of day
shadows trapped in corners
are now crawling up the walls
the eyes are all cut out
of my teddy-bears and dolls
lines drawn over pictures
so you cant see the face
but the albums they are in
are always trimmed with lace
set fire to my closet
watch it all burn down
then go into the kitchen
in gin, myself, i'll drown
masks are hanging from the roof
painted in purple and black
theres only one place for me
the getaway world of crack
on ocean shores im lying
the sand is broken glass
the cutting pain is beautiful
i would never pass
bugs are crawling in and out
weaving through my skin
oh look, its my own voodoo doll
lets stick it with a pin
escaping to another place
to a world i call my own
sex drugs and alchohol
i'll never be alone

Wow good write. Keep it up. Very good image of what that kind of addiction would be like. Scary. I look foward to reading your other poems.
