The Only Witness
The small boy sat by the lakes shore
playing with pebbles while his dad
was swimming in its cool water.
His dad waved his arms about and
made a funny face, the boy waved too
and laughingly made a funny face
The small boy sat by the lakes shore
playing with pebbles waiting for his
dad to come back up, he waited till
twilight than walked home telling his
mum that daddy was hiding in the lake.
