It's 9 o'clock on a sunday night
and I'm staring up at the incandescent sky
imagining impossible envisions in my life
same ol' dreams, my eager delights
it's 8 o'clock on this monday night
and I'm laying back to see the bright lights
tonight it's dancing along broadway's streets
with tappping shoes and delicate feet
It's 10 o'clock on a thursday night
and I'm gazing skyward to the stary high
yea, I'm dreaming of being filthy rich
remember, diamonds are a girls best friend
And it's 9 o'clock right now
and I'm sure that somehow
my paradise will come around
even in this island town
the rain is abrading my face
and everything is melting away
these stary nights bring me placidity
there's no where else I'd rather be
