Love, yes love
Has a sweet call
Though often enough
Makes fools of us all
Can any man
Comprehend love?
Or can it only be answered
By God above?
A little bit
Of love I see
That precious sight
Overpowers me
If the tip of the iceberg
Is all I behold
How can I say
What will unfold?
"Forever I'll love you"
Is easy to say
But what if destiny
Didn't plan it that way?
My love forever
You say you will be
But what of the changes
Today we don't see?
We can't know for sure
What will happen tomorrow
What if today
Our love ends in sorrow?
But often enough
Our fears are unfounded
And things that were said
Weren't meant as they sounded
Words spoken in haste
By wrath overpowered
Weren't rational thoughts
Spoken in love's awesome power
Don't be too hasty
In making a vow
But if the promise is made
Keep it, somehow
