Hellish Rain

Contributed by Breezer08 on Thursday, 1st April 2004 @ 07:45:02 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

My time is slipping away from me.
My world is just a broken fantasy.
Littered with lost souls and shattered hearts
I feel violated and battered apart.
My dreams are so far away
I never thought I could feel this way.
I'm slipping into this warp of unending pain
All I wanna do is just feel the rain.
The softness as it falls down my face
The feel of the water as it picks up its pace.
But my rain always turns to a storm
And the heavens open up their flooding door
I try to hide but theres no where to turn
The lighting flashes and I can feel the burn.
But when I feel I have felt the full wrath
The storm takes to a new path
And hits me right straight in the soul.
But then God feels I've felt my toll
The rain slows down and the thunder is gone
But thats only before the rising dawn
So when the day turns to night
I'll feel the rain and its hellish might

I love the way you have described the rain! I, myself am writing a poem about rain. It's a work in progress because I believe that rain is God's way of sending me to therapy and it just takes me away...so it's hard to include all of the emotions and keep the poem in tact. I read your poem simply due to the title thinking that you would describe it as an evil thing, but I love the way you used the imagery.
Wonderfully done! Bravo!

P.S. um, yes, liquidsunshine... doesn't show how much I like rain or anything does it ? (wink wink)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
