Something To Burn

Contributed by ThePumpkinKing on Thursday, 1st April 2004 @ 09:35:54 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

And I've never known a friend like you
I've never known someone that's so true
And you've become a part of my life,
a part that I can't even write
It's a place that has been empty

And I just want you to know,
that I think you're special

Wish my words were seen,
and could tell what I mean
When I say I've found something to burn,
deep inside of me

I never thought inside my mind,
that we would get this close in time
That you would fill a part of me,
that has long since been empty

And I just want you to know,
that I think you're special

Wish my thoughts were heard,
and could fly like a bird
And you could know you've lit a flame,
deep inside of me

This is sweet . . . loved the imagery with lighting a flame; a great depiction of true friendship.

Incredibly romantic and thoughtful...Whats that saying? "They lit a fire between them without any kindling" Something like that, I think. Anyway that came to mind. Loved this poem. Kie

When the spoken word can't be heard what a lovely way of telling someone they are very special! Nicely done. June
