The Grand Allaire

Topic: dedicatedpoems

Was she there, my darling fair,
With purple eyes and flaxan hair,
At the opening of the Grand Allaire,
Down the coast..I'm not aware.

Six months before at closing door,
Her kisses sweet, her kisses tore,
We promised both at the stroke of four,
To dine and dance on the ballroom floor.

It seems to me, quite possibly,
She diddled me, a fool I be,
I let my mind with liberty,
Run ultra-free to pleasure me.

Those of you whose love is true,
Will know the feel if love is through,
I must say that entre nous,
My life will change from red to blue.

Ten before suggested time.
My stomach's tight.. I'm sucking lime,
My mind is blank.. no way to rhyme
I'm standing still just like a mime.

There she comes, my darling fair,
With purple eyes and flaxan hair,
We'll start our life, we'll be a pair,
On the ballroom floor of the Grand Allaire

What an interesting tale. Lovely details and rhyme. Is that the French "nous" as is "us" or "we"?

Oh how I wish, I could have been there to see
Those purple eyes and flaxen hair!
I'd have even stolen a dance to see her closer.............like Elizabeth Taylor....what a beaut she must have been.
I could see everything in my "mind's eye"
even you dancing and winning the prize!

Loved this one norm!
