On my shelf sits a black box Ordinary and worn Among its boundaries lay broken thoughts Ensnared in a rose of red
Fragments of a whole Fallen from every petal Your the reason I cry when Im alone Lost with answers all a blur Your the reason this rose has grown You who has made it wither
How could such delicasy survive here I feel you took my dreams and made them real Reminding me of innocence lingering near As if I dont feel
Fragments of a whole Fallen from every petal Your the reason I cry when Im alone Lost with answers all a blur Your the reason this rose has grown You who has made it wither
The world is crumbling in front of my eyes Yet you leave me caught between myself Picking through reality built from lies Slowly the petals fall from my shelf Shriveled and lifeless
Fragments of a whole Fallen from every petal Your the reason I cry when Im alone Lost with answers all a blur Your the reason this rose has grown You who has made it wither
Fragments of a whole Fallen from every petal
Like my rose was never real As if I dont feel All my dreams wasted Never seen real All seen torpid

WOW! I thought to myself that I had to read a poem called 'Torpid' and I am so glad I did... this was friggin amazing. I read it over a few times and tried to pick out a favourite line, but was unable to as it was all equally great. I'm gonna go read it again...

Rhythmic. Evokes poignancy in its falling petals.
A worthwhile read. |
