She stands 16 hands, weighs half a ton,
Her dam is a daughter of the great horse
That carried the knights, of the line that
Hauled the coal and the guns and the beer.
Her sire a son of the blood that George
Washington brought to America, by a
French jack from Pictou. While her
half sisters will bear champions she will
Bear only burdens, but she will bear them
With style, grace, loyalty, humour and
an eye to self-preservation

Well done poem.. leaves me wanting to read more.. you have captured her spirit; although along with 'style, grace, loyalty, and humour'.. she lays heavy on the humour when one rides beneath a tree hehe (and the backside has a mind of its own) I do so love this poem, ty for sharing:)
