AGONY PART FIVE
AGONY ON A TORTURE STAKE!

AGONY ON TORTURE STAKE

Soon to be executed, Jesus is taken to Golgatha, or Skull Place.
Two more prisoners are executed along side of him, a horrible disgrace!
Stripped of their outer garments, then offered wine with myrrh is provided.

When given to Jesus, he refuses to drink a drop of it.
Why? This is a supreme test of his faith, he must have sharp wit!
Keep in mind that Jesus is a perfect man, perfect feelings, perfect nerves, more so than
we ourselves, pain would be more reeling!

Placed upon the stake or tree, his hands are placed over his head.
A huge nail (such as we might see on the RR) used on his deathbed!
His arms placed on top of each other, an iron nail is driven into the lower part of his hand.
Muscles, tendons, tissues, nerves, horrific pain, who could stand?

Next, they pierce his feet one on top of the other, in like fashion.
Guards are not interested in relieving his pain, their feelings deaden.
A huge hole has been dug to drop the large stake into.
Can you imagine for a second, the excruciating pain Jesus felt.
When they dropped his stake into the hole, no rescue?

As the stake is swung upright, the pain is intensfied.
For the weight of his whole body tears at the nails, pain n'er subside!
Jesus never threatens, instead, he prays for the soldiers?
"Father forgive them, for they do not know, forgive these wrongers!"

"Jesus the Nazarene the King of the Jews." above his head a sign read.
Pilate does this on purpose, he hates the Jewish Priests, and where this has lead!
Hebrew, Official Latin, and in the Common Greek he has it written
Chief Priests are dismayed, this positive proclamation that takes away their hour of triumph dampen!

Jesus is exhausted, and so the pain is even greater for him to bare.
The onlookers begin to mock him now, and speak abusively, in his despair!
The guards now join in the fun, "If you are the Son of God, come on down from there, he should rescue you!"
"If you truly are the Son of God, then call on Him your Father to undo!"

Think of this, the Greatest Man that ever lived and walked this earth
This same man with his Father in the Heavens helped create the Universe and give it birth!
Could have given in, and broken his integrity, his strong faith.
But because he loved us so much, he was willing to endure, so we might livelong!

As was prophesied hundreds of years before, the guards take his outer garment and cast lots!
Why? Hebrew woman could make garments without seams, they were considered very expensive without knots.

Hanging along Jesus was a Robber, who at the last moment recognized Jesus greatness
"Please remember me Jesus, I am a robber, I'm not blameless!"
Jesus turns his head and assures this robber he will be remembered.
"You will be with me in Paradise!" Jesus tell him assured!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"CERTAINLY THIS WAS GOD'S SON!"
At midday a mysterious, three-hour-long darkness occurred!
The moon is always full at Passover, so couldn't be an eclipse, concurred!
If this was a solar eclipse, as some seem to claim,
This then had to be of Divine Origin, because it lasted for hours not minutes, distain!
John, Jesus' beloved apostle brings his mother Mary, her sister Salome, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James close to him.
Jesus thinks not of his own pain, but of his Mother's welfare, 'tis slim?
Jesus says to John, "Woman see? Your Son!"
nodding toward his mother Mary...........
Shortly he will die, he entrusts the care of his Mother to John Briskly!
Jesus' Mother's heart has been pierced through also.
She has raised Jesus from birth, she knows he is innocent, a perfect son, a perfect fellow.
It is now three p.m. and Jesus cries out in a loud voice, "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"
Jesus feels that his Heavenly Father has withdrawn his Holy Spirit....
This had to be done, to satisfy Satan's taunts....
"He will not remain faithful without it!" saying Satan in private!
They give him some sour wine after he has cried out!
After he drinks, he then says, "It has been accomplished!"
throughout.
The very moment Jesus breathes his last, occurs a violent earthquake!
Splitting open the rock masses, the memorial tombs are opened, and corpses are thrown out, no mistake!
People passing by can see this with their own eyes,
Reporting all of this as they enter the City, with morbid sighs!
A huge curtain in the Temple is 60 feet high, and thick and heavy!
Has been rent in two, by no man, not anyone human, 'tis too bulky!
People seeing this great earthquake, and other things happening, grow very much afraid!
The Army Officer in charge says,
"Certainly this was God's Son!" he surveyed!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It has been a lifetime dream of mine, to write a poem abut the suffering of this Great Man.
I've always felt that perhaps I could better empathize with him and his suffering, was my plan.
As the Author of this poem you might ask, "Do you think Jesus was truly the Son of God?"
And to that question, I will state, without any reservations what so ever, this story is not a fraud!
I went to the Unversity of Illinois Library, and asked Greek Scholars, even one Hebrew Professor.
They all agreed that the rendering verse was as I have stated, I researched with Bluster!
I tore history books apart, and even went to the Ancient Art!
I researched the Bible and studied every single phophecy!
Even four thousand years before he came, they all agree!
No one can predict their death with any accuracy, It's impossible.
Yet, when the guards came to break Jesus legs, he had died, to fulfill the prophecy, "No bones would be broken!" proof again double!
His father the Greater Power not only prophecies, but then manipulates it so that it comes true.
It was his Father that saw to it that Jesus was dead so they didn't have to break his legs in two!
"There is no doubt in my mind, so much so, I'd be willing to die to proclaim.......If Jesus was not the Son of God, the Messiah, then there will never be one!"

Passover-Full Moon.

Most of the story I have written here in Poetry was taken from a Book called
"The Greatest Man That Ever Lived!"
All the research was done personally by me, and the poem that I created from this story is mine.......every single word of it!

"He loved us so much! Hope this helps all of you to appreciate just how much!
"Loving Smiles"

"Soon I will be writing about his resurrection. And all the wonderful promises he has made for all of mankind!"

It seems I am not the only one who is writing a series. And you said that you are no good at epic pieces...this is a true epic for catholics and new testament christians. I have been reading your series but have not been commenting for my faith as a muslim like the orthodox christians have a slightly different take on these stories herein. So I hope you have not felt that I have been neglegting my regular dosage of your lovely writes its just that if I were to seriously comment it would lead a debate in theology, ancient history and archeology. So to each their faiths...but very nice version of the epic nonetheless.. Great powerful write! for your series all... a testament perhaps to your faith in God or the infinite by whichever names you or I call Him.!

Reminds me of Venkat's lovely lyrical stories on his religious intrepretations. Not to compare but as a memory assesment.

See you on the flip side....upon your more regular writes.

Dear friend, I thought you could do it and you have proven it, there wasn't a doubt in my mind. No-one can sum up the pain to a true extent but you pulled it off as best as anyone could. That was a wonderful read, and i hope everyone that reads it appreciates the amount of time put into such a piece.

People can argue about religion and what is true or false as some things can be proven to a high extent and others well you just believe it because it is in a book, the same with alot/most religions, i may be wrong but if you search back far enough into how all the great religions began many people said similar things that jesus did before his time. We do not know a great deal about jesus life from what i understand and the bible has been written by many people with their own agenda's, but it all comes down to faith, jesus had a true and strong message, his words from what we read are truly the words of an extrememly insightful man, whether people believe he is the son of god or not, they cannot deny the love and powerful messages this man gave to the world. Each person finds comfort in their own belief and i think in the end it doesn't matter that much, for we are all from and a part of god, and when we die we shall be our own judge, looking at ourselves without any negative emotion and seeing the consequences of our actions. "The kingdom of god lies within you", you decide by your actions if you will follow the path of truth, or deceit. "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" or however it goes is what we should live by, never in my mind has there been a stronger statement. Sorry for rambling on, i am probably wrong just wanted to show you how much i loved your write and how much this stuff interests me. I truly loved it.
