At War With Myself

Contributed by swiftsouljah on Tuesday, 6th April 2004 @ 11:20:18 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Whats wrong with me
Why didnt I see
Why didnt I listen to myself
I think of what I did
But its like watching someone else
Detached from this body
I struggle to live
Without my everything
I got nothing left
Except maybe
This cursed breath
I lack what it takes to go on
A house divided
Will never stand
That explains it all
Thats why
Im about to fall
Im a besieged man
Tormented
By the demons that surround me
But now I realize its all on me
Cause Im at war with myself
Completely split
Two opposing sides
That I cant define
Distinct nonetheless
Beyond reconcile
The both entrench
In preparation
To fight my battle within
I hope to one day
Get out of this deadlock
I feel like Im getting torn in two
Ripped apart at the seams
Caught in an troubled balance
Between the edge and the wall
Between having and losing it all
Between standing and a desperate fall
Tearing down who I was
Trying to keep who I am
Trying to fill the void
Suffering from the pain
Of being toyed

Wayne Wende

Wayne, I am sorry you are having such a struggle. Let's pray the good man wins. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other toward your goal and don't look back for any reason.

Rita

This is a complex, dark yet enlightening poem. Good stuff, keep it coming
