'GIRLFRIENDS"
Skating while singing a song.
My Girl friend and I glide along.
We love to skate together, we are four.
Girl friends since three or more!
She loves bonnets, I love hats.
Puppies she loves, my favorite are cats!
Flowers for her are roses, Mine are Lilacs...
She loves pink, I love blue, same frocks!
We're girlfriends, love each other a lot.
What she remembered, I forgot
Without asking, she knew my very thought!
What she didn't know I taught!
Hand in hand the first day of school
Tightly connected, one module.
When she cried, I did too, shoulder to shoulder.
Arm in arm strength to bolster!
Dreams of things we knew were far-fetched!
Hearts and mind finely sketched
First nylons, first high heel practice.
Giggling, tottering, falling, graceless!
First boyfriend, nothing not shared!
Overnight slumber parties, always compared.
First kiss, promises of future days
Always advising, no decisions, n'er without OK's!
Shared our beautiful weddings together
Side by side, down the same isle, same altar.
Closer than twin sisters, husband's agree
Separate honeymoon's, missed each other tremendously!
Same city, just blocks away
Called first thing each morning, start of day.
Compared our pregnancies, bulky pictures.
During labors each other's anchors!
Babysitters for one another always
Husbands closer than brothers, good blenders.
Children raised side by side most times!
Cheered for each our whole lifetimes.
Buried and consoled, each husband gone.
Our heart's love closer 'twas drawn.
The same prayer we each utter sincerely....

wow. that is amazing and so truthfully told.
It makes me think alot about whats happened to me. Ive lost friends but the two im sooo close to now, i wanna be even closer too. Sadly enough, this poem is the only thing makeing me realize friendship. So i suppose i can give you a special thanks and keep writing!

| When I read this a tear came to my eye. I thought of my best friend. We have been best friends for almost 8 years. We have been through everything together. We have gotten in trouble together. Every childhood memory includes her. Friends are precious dont let the good ones go! |
