Equilibrium of Passions

Contributed by spike on Thursday, 8th April 2004 @ 04:42:07 AM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Evening to morning,
And next to me you stir
Kindred spirits, belonging
Neither to lovers or friends
- Something in between.

As friends we succumbed
To the inevitable attraction;
As lovers we could not sustain it.

And so we fall between the two,
Uncertain in this, the new dawn.

Very nice title there and overall a great poem as well, quite sad but intriguing.

S,

This actually hurts. I have been in this place and there is an awkwardness
that cannot be escaped. It gets under the skin like osmosis and flows freely
throughout the veins to the point of emotional exhaustion! It is a difficult
moment to live in.

Having nothing of worth on the homepage ('cept of course what I've already
commented on), I am sentenced to search the back catalogues of my favourite
poets. Kudos here, dear poet. A wonderfully emotive (and-for me-nostalgic) piece.

Well done!!

~ Breezy
