A Heartily Demise

A heartily demise.
Sulking to commune with life, I lay alone, with a gimlet piercing my chest. A scrupulous heart-now a mere slice, Which I clasp, upon my bloody vest. It revels within my palms in haste, Whilst thoughts ricochet around my head, Gulps prodigiously, at the sudden change of fate, And whispers gauntly, 'will it be long, before I Am dead'?
Forlorn and worn, it fought for air, Compressed between my fingers and sweat, I, the fallen debonair, Lay with it, till death.

Very Morbid but on the whole a good poem if you like this kind of verse. |
