Passionate warmth escapes their gentle touch Embracing life itself with room for each other Their love developing such bloom and lush They all cant stop but stare and wonder Which dream will fall beneath the next Envious onlookers anticipate their falters Looking down lost and perplexed At the pool of pity rippling among the altars Love that sparks inner beauty Dreams they share of forever romance Everlasting lust lingering in fantasy As they continue on there last dance Yet fairy tales end has stopped abruptly Contentment of silky wings are broken Her eyes ocean of lovely depth has grown shallow Clouds beneath have finally fallen These hungry eyes watch with subtle smile Absorbing shattered dreams that lay forgotten Temptations of a kiss is cast aside This velvet rose withers rotten Spell is broken as he leaves her arms of pleading guilt Empty tears she wept can never bring him back Enchanting rose he gave has begun to wilt As her hopeful future fades to black

I am speechless. This in my opinion is a masterpiece!
I was going to quote lines but I would have had to have included every one.
Wow this was a great poem....

Magic weaves itself within your words. Lovely, romantic and sad with a touch of sensual. I like it. Justalady |

The only semi-accurate way to describe this poem is beautiful and despite its beauty there was pain and chilling, rather disturbing undertone. This poem was mesmerizing definitely one of the best poems I have read in a while. Your talent is admirable and then some.

I agree. Variety the spice . . . etc.
"Envious onlookers anticipate their falters"
I didn't understand that line. It was a stumbling block over the piece to start with, but you immediately picked it up with this one;
"At the pool of pity rippling among the altars"
. . . and plateau'd on a high after this;
"Contentment of silky wings are broken"
I like the way you worked this out. It shows a certain level of ingenuity and imagination.
Thanks for sharing. |
