You can hear scuffing of feet
As people were walking the streets
And the day was bright,
From the beautiful sunlight
And cars were driving by,
But flying high
Above two towers in the sky
The eagle began to cry
People stared as the plane hit the one tower
And that was the beginning of,
Many silent hours
Moments later
The second plane hit the other tower
And that was the call for
All of Americas power
But as the pentagon was hit
We had all called upon God
For we all new it was about to begin.
Now we are in a war
And some ask what are we fighting for.
How about our freedom
And the many lives that were killed.
As osama got his thrill
But little did he know our men were
Coming in for the kill, And now some wonder
Which cave he is under
For he took cover
From the roar of our thunder.
Now mothers and fathers
Sit and pray
Waiting and hoping, for their babies
To come home the next day.
And now we all owe thanks
To president Bush, for the mess that we are in
For he knows nothing about security,
Nor the truth of liberty.

Excellent expression of feeling.
Yes, we owe him thanks for all the useless deaths of our men and women and slaughter of innocents over there. Why are we there. Saddam did not take the twin towers down? Bin Laden is still running free. This whole war is about revenge and oil. Greed and power, what all wars are about.

As one of the people who fights those wars, comments like the above degrade our work, values and lives. We fight because we're told to fight, yeah, but, when we do, the war isn't about money. It's not about power or greed.
The war is about staying alive. That is when the battle is one for freedom and for the continued existence of the great democracy that is America. You'll never know anything of such a struggle until you are in that situation.
So you can continue to question the decisions of the government and you can be obstinate about your position on being anti-war. Continue on with your proclamations that it's about money. Continue degrading the people whose job it is to save your life, your freedom and your country. You have that right. |

| This poem reeks of ignorance. Though it began beautifully it ended with in such a disappointing way by adding the author's political view that it ruined the whole effect. |
