Smiling Back At Me
As the Sun begins to Rise, Signaling to all the world, That God has made a new day.
I spend every morning, Watching all the birds that God has created, Fly around. I can't help but envy them, For they are completely free.
As I gaze, longingly at the sunrise, I see your face., Smiling happily at me, Amongst clouds of white.
It's a sight that had startled me before, But has become apart of my day. Time takes flight, While I stand and smile back at you, in the clouds.
Dawn is gone, The Sun beats down upon my face. The clouds are all gone, But I still see your face, For it is branded in my memory.
Now I sit, On the porch, Watching as the Sun slowly sets in the west, For God has ended this day.
And mixed softly with vivid colors, Of orange and purples, Is your face, Smiling back at me.
