Don't hold your opinion
based on what I am today
Cause my mood swings come and go
my feelings change with each day
you should know
I'm no less affected
By the view of others
Sometimes it seems
that no one bothers
If it hurts me when they judge
And mark me on their scales
Turn my best intentions into gossip tales
What if I don't measure up
Can you toss me out like a card
I'm nonetheless a part
of how you look at your own self

Why is it a big deal
when I believe a little bit in everything
I make up my own religion
And choose my own truths
Why is youth
an unacceptable time
to understand
I don't anymore need
your hand
I can walk on my own
Still I'm not grown up
enough
To do everything
And that I agree
But don't you see
I need more space right now
