Burned right into my skin.
You were a heightened dream,
A blistering heat
That I dare not mention now...
Now that I am older
By not much
(A year).
Wiser for whatever
This has cost me.
Was it a mistake
To bask in this for just a while...
The time I did?
Was it a fault
My own, my doing,
My wrong?
(Nothing you can say for this.
It's rhetorical.)
You were the realising
I could never reach.
And still
You creep and ache inside my sleep
And simmer in the restless
Until I wake
Overcome by heat
And the passion,
I dare not mention,
To heal.

this is one of those times when i can say i know exactly what your talking about! :) Dreams have plagued me in much the same way in the past. Best thing to remember is your not alone.
