You say they encompass you And we cannot follow you. Your semi-suicidal words fill my head Entering my conscience, Subconsciously. Is that what you request? Compassion: Commitment: Pure animal instinct Tells me to dial a number I have long since forgotten. Even when I hear you I refuse to listen - I cannot sleep in peace While you scream for mercy While he takes away any and all innocence You once possessed. In a sea full of regret how much must one take for redemption to set it? It's irrefutable, it you were to ask me. He'll never quit and you'll always allow it. I would provide my assistance if I had the Slightest notion that you, Of All People, would use it to depart. but When I see the blood and you can still smile I know all I'll ever need to.

I must commend you on writing this poem. The sad truth is the majority of these women are addicted to these men. It is not fear that keeps most of them there, it is a sick addiction for the man and his actions. Primal but true. I have dealt with so many like this. Sad life for a human.
