Things can turn around
In less than an instant,
There's things you thought you knew
But it turns out
You really didn't.
Lives can be lost,
Lives can be changed,
And normal situations
Become totally deranged.
You can listen to silence
And clearly hear its voice,
But the things that happen
Will never be your choice.
I learned that all the hard way
And had to say goodbye
To my best friend Tay
Who recently died.
So I fold my hands,
Close my eyes and pray,
God please deliver
This message to Tay.
I love you and I miss you
As much as water in the sea
And I'll never forget
What you said to me:
Things can turn around
In less than an instant,
There's things you thought you knew
But it turns out
You really didn't.

Yes, you are so right. Life can be very cruel and jump up an bit you with reality when you are least expecting it. I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. I hope there are better days ahead for you.
