______________________ Fragments of light filter past the seaweed Sleeping in sun warmed water unaware My skin tight with salt water residue Sunburned and relaxed next to you My hair a rainbow across my narrowed eyes Watching you look up at the sky Determined to identify the light source As the sun slips beyond your grasp Leaving us in cool shades of blue Absorbed from Mediterranean sky White sundress is wrinkled now My hand trembles on your shoulder As I empty the sand from my shoe You brush the hair from my eyes A tender touch, not meant to tantalize But somehow you do mesmerize Send shivers down my spine How is it we knew the magnitude of inspiration? Waiting for a kiss that would awaken the senses How we talked for hours and hours My feet touching each warm stone surface Stacking up our ideas like towers The wine went to our heads, suggesting the absurd We lingered as long as we dared Saying good night at the door.
