Past life, Split Circle

Contributed by Matsukaze on Friday, 16th April 2004 @ 07:03:16 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

There I stand, in ancient chaotic Japan
Sword in hand, knife in sheath
I await the time for my release

My feelings, conceived in anger
Written in blood

Drift around me
As I stand in the mud

Now it is my turn, to show my power
To show my hate
To show my promise
To show your fate

I dive from high above
How I got there, was from the power of love

I first sink my knife, just inside the circle
This is my own ritual
And then I throw the sword by my side
Missing just outside the circle, it confides

I land to see my work
Looking in every direction
to see the faces of dirt

I then leave my sword, as most would not
Only walking by it, and touching the handle I had wrought

I then go to pick up my knife
Knealing by it, I remove it from the dirt
This is how I display my life
But not without hurt

I bring the knife to my inner arm
And cut it there, I mean myself no harm

But to show to them, who I am
As I resheath my knife, and walk past them
Continuing down the land

My pace is steady, my blood does drip
But eventually I find her
My true love, my wifes lips.

AND THEN I AWAKE...!!!

This dream of mine, was it fake?

I could not tell, perhaps I had made a mistake

All I know is what I feel

And the life I lived before me

..........Was real.....

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
