I was sitting fishing, the other day When beside me a frog, began to say Jim a penny for them, what are you thinking I looked at the frog, who started blinking
I said Mr Frog, what is your name Croaking he replied, they call me Jermaine How do you know me, a question asked I I seen it written in a ripple, was his reply
Well Jermaine, I think of life and death Of time everlasting, or dying with each breath I think of happiness, pain, but also too much sorrow I think of today, the past and also of tomorrow
Well Jim croaked he, you think of all lifes meanings You hide from all the angels, you show yourself to demons You never believe in yourself, always bring yourself down Now Jim it's time to change and turn all this around
You have a heart, have a soul and a mind croaked he You have power in that pen, that many people see Use it now, don't be afraid, croaked that wise old frog I turned to thank Jermaine but, he'd vanished from the log

Curiously titled, I obviously fell for clicking on it. Jermaine the Frog? Perplexing for sure, but whatever one's muse takes shape, I believe its best to follow and not to question. Poetically, this poem resonates, as it seems you've come from some time out in the poetic wilderness to begin writing again.
I'm thankful. Thankful to Jermaine, and to you.
"You hide from all the angels, you show yourself to demons "
That's a winning line.
Good work. |
