Peace takes no prisoners
nor does it take lives
what are we really fighting for
is it worth this bloody price
I yearn for an end to war
that will last days
weeks
years
even better , centuries
the end that will make no mother cry
over a slain soldier
I thrist for the knowledege that someday
this planets inhabitants
will love and respect life more
then greed or military might.

I say Amen to this Sheri. Too many wars too many deaths not to mention the wounded and badly maimed or burned. War is and always was a bloody turmoil of hate and or greed. Thankyou for your poem.
